Where to buy Asus notebook battery?
I'm looking to buy a W5F-G013H from Newegg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220021 but can't find anyone who sells extra batteries. BTW, I'm trying to decide between this and a Toshiba U205-5022. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...587015?ie=UTF8 This seems a little more accesible, but not a cool looking. Extra battery and accessorys are not a prob. The Asus doesn't have any media controls on the front of it. Would REALLY like to have the option not to boot up for DVD and music, and especially volume control on the front of it. Anyone has suggestions for a 12" to 13" notebook at 4lbs or less? I can spend up to $2K. Thanks |

How about a Dell XPS M1210, Latitude D420, or Latitude X1?
The part number for the Asus battery is 90-NHA2B2000 if you want to start searching. Looks like the going price is $100 to $125. Froogle has a lot of hits but most are backordered. |

The XPS 1210 looks nice, but getting a little heavier than the others I mentioned. The Latitudes don't have internal optical drives.
Thanks for the part number, I'll do some searching. |

What about an Inspiron 700m or 710m out of the Dell outlet?

After doing more research, the Dell Mediadirect button sounds pretty good. I tend to have a lot of divx movies, so being able to access video files and not just play a DVD sounds great. Although I still like the white case and reputation of the ASUS model. I'm probably going to forget about the Toshiba now

You might want to look at the Lenovo Thinkpad X series - I don't know if it has the features you want, but it's small/light and being a Thinkpad it's going to be reliable.

Thanks GLC. I actually have a T41 I'm replacing which has been a workhorse. The x series don't have optical and the T series are a little pricey, so I'm probably leaning towards the Dell XPS 1210
