Pentium M Dothan 725 to Intel Core Duo Proccessor T2250

My Dell Inspiron 6000 has a Pentium M Dothan 725 1.6GHZ processor in it, can I replace the processor with a
Intel Core Duo Proccessor T2250 1.73GHz

Is this dual core compatable with the cpu socket on my inspiron 6000.

The sockets are the same but the big thing is would the BIOS support the new CPU. Also, the Duo has a faster FSB so ram may not work.

The Duo is 667. It's not compatible because of the motherboard chipset.

The sockets are also NOT the same -- they are both Socket 479, but are electrically incompatible. Your best upgrade would be to put in a FSB533 Dothan.
