external batteries

has anyone used one of these external laptop batteries like this?

pros? cons?

It looks huge. IMHO, there's minimal advantage over purchasing an OEM replacement battery except for very select circumstances.

Of course it looks huge - it's EXTERNAL and it's universal.

that is true - they are big.

In my case, I have 2 laptops, from 2 different manufacturers, so purchasing 1 battery from each puts the cost right around the same price point + as I swap out laptops (I average a new laptop every year or so - I alternate back and forth) so having a single battery that will work from machine to machine regardless of make has a lot of plus.

Plus, have you ever had to swap out a battery in the middle of a presentation? it is quite disruptive (BTW, battery meters LIE - they are only really accurate when the battery is relatively new - after a year or so, don't trust them)
