Laptop power jack problem
Hi. Anyone out there familiar with replacing dc jacks on an HP NX9500 business computer? I have the jack and the service manual for it but haven't had the time or guts to tackle it just yet. Any tips on this little project? From what I have seen on the net, this seems to be a very common problem with a lot of laptops.

i just repaired a laptop at work that the pin had broken off inside the laptop
it was a pain but more so because the laptop was poorly constructed in my opinion i had to remove way to many things to get at the power jack then i soldered it back onto the board and then used electrical tape and duct tape to hold it down i dont know if your jack is broken or just has come off the board if it just came off the board you can solder it back on most of the time we see the problem alot people move the laptop around when its plugged in and bump the cord off of something and then break the jack loose we sometimes get it with usb ports too |
