laptop for college

Thinking of getting this acer laptop for college.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834115258

I want to be able to do the normal college homework things, as well as gaming and cd/dvd burning. The games i play most are bf2, cod2, and wow. Is this laptop good enough to play those on high settings? I wont be taking the laptop to class but i want to be able to go around the house, for changes in senery instead of always being in the same spot with a desktop. But sometimes i will be hooking it up my desktop monitor.

So my basic question i guess is, will it play those games.

That laptop will be able to handle what you plan to use it for.

Good choice by the way. ACER gives the best bang for the buck.

Weird that the screen res is so low. My Dell has a 15.4" screen and the default is 1680x1050. I think that the difference is that the Acer only has a XGA screen which gives lower resolution and a poorer view. The most noticeable part of that will be what you can load and view on the screen.

seems like an extremely good choice. im very happy with my acer (in my signature). bought it last year. i kinda regret cause now the new Core chips have come out

one thing i dont understand. i thought it would be normal if you wanted to change/upgrade your ram by yourself. but my acer laptop has a warranty void sticker where the RAM access panel is. but there is not sticker where the Processor/ System Fan Panel is... how odd is that. yesterday i cleaned my fan and everything runs a a lot cooler.
i have to call acer about this. i need more RAM!
