Am looking to purchase a budget notebook, and would like to have about the same speed/power as my desktop. I currently have an
AMD Athlon(tm) Processor, Version: x86 Family 6 Model 4 Stepping 2 Speed: 951 MHz 640 RAM Could anyone tell me what to look for? |

check www.newegg.com they had a couple of Acer notebooks for $599.00 that are real nice...

Your desktop is pretty slow...even the cheapest notebooks will be faster/more powerful.

I'm happy with my HP Pavilion Widescreen. It runs on centrino which gives me longer battery life. Maximum i can get from it is about 3.5 - 4 hours. depending on what program i'm using ofcourse.
