I just bought a Vaio TX750 notebook computer. I love its small size and portability. I would also love its built it wireless internet capability, if it didn't force me to sign up with cingular and pay $50 a month for 2 years. I want to buy a PCMCIA card for my notebook computer for wireless internet anywhere. Does anyone know of any PCMCIA cards that I could use for that?

$50 a month for unlimited 3G data is a pretty good deal! Verizon charges $60-80 a month and Sprint also charges $80.
If you want to just use WiFi then the TX has that built in. Otherwise you're stuck with the hefty subscription fees. IMO it's only worth it if you're really on the road a lot.

True. But, anyplace I go that my computer says it "sees" a signal, I try to connect and it says limited or no connectivity. ugh.

That will happen if the signal is very weak, but if you are getting three or more bars in the wireless utility, you should be able to connect without problems. If you can't then there's something wrong with how your computer is set up.

Also, you won't be able to connect to a secured network without the security key - or if it has MAC filtering you won't be able to connect at all unless your adapter's MAC address is added to the allowed list.

Buying a VGN-TX tonight, Mate. Built-in wifi is the way to go, unless you want the cingular all-over coverage at the outrageous prices. Wifi is the way I am going, atleast.
