Problems with wireless connection on Laptop
I am currently using a wireless 802.11B router which has ethernet to my PC and a wireless connection to my laptop. Im using a 802.11G PCMCIA card. The problem Im having is that when I login to an online game (WOW) after about 2 seconds the whole laptop freezes. I cant use the Start menu key or CTRL-ALT-DEL. The screen stays on but the mouse cursor doesnt move. Im using a USB mouse and always use powercable never laptop batts.
Anyone know if the problem is Wireless connection or Im draining way too much power from the system cuz of the PCMCIA and USB at once. Also would sticking a USD wireless adaptor would be better incase of power problems (does usb use less power?) Any advice is greatly appreciated Thanks. Don't use USB for any networking. It is not physically robust enough for network data flow. Have you done any malware scans with updated scanners lately?

To me, it sounds like there is definitely something wrong, so I am not sure what you mean there shouldn't be anything wrong yet. The way I read it you have some sort of conflict which became apparent as soon as you plugged it in. |

i would recommend not using wireless while gaming, simply because its to unreliable. too many fluctuations in signal strength can cause lag or there is a tendency for the signal to just drop out all together which will cause you to be disconnected not only from the game but the internet as well, and you might be booted/banned from game servers bc of a hing ping rate, use a cat5e cable and connect it to a router, and just remove the usb and the pcmcia wireless cards while playing or disable them both in windows before you start playing games
