** Question **

Hi All:

My wife has a Motorola V220 cellphone, and I know I can buy a USB Data cable and the software to download pictures that she takes to my computer.

My question is, is there any way to retrieve pictures or live video from her cellphone while she's out on the road to my computer or another cellphone?

If not, is there any kind of devices that will let you do this?

Thank you ahead of time,

Bill Lane

wow. the only thing i cant think off is 3G. but her phone does not support it. you could also try using GPRS and loading a browser on her phone so she could send pictures and video. but i dont know how successful this would be

She can e-mail them or MMS them from the phone if she has the appropriate service.

Thanks rave & glc:

The few pictures that she would be e-mailing me from time to time really don't warrant signing up for another internet service.

I'm going to try and find out if I can use her phone to log on to my Earthlink acount.

Thanks again,

Bill Lane

I'm not talking about another Internet service - all you need is MMS capability with her cellular account. I get 45 MMS messages a month with my Cingular account as part of my basic multimedia package. Even without a package, it's usually only 25 cents or so for each message. I can MMS to either another phone or to an e-mail address. So, all she would have to do is create a MMS message, attach the picture, and send it to your Earthlink address OR to your cellphone.

If the phone has a camera, it's MMS-capable. All you need to do is check with your cell service provider.

Hi glc:

The phone has a camera, it took me an hour or more just to enter my e-mail address, I tried to send a text message to my home computer, but it told me that it wasn't able to send it.

I contacted Cingular for help, they said they would get back to me in 48 hours.

I'm about to give up on this, if I can't figure out how to use it, my wife will never get it.

Anyway, I'll let you know what Cingular says.

CALL Cingular - if your plan includes SMS and MMS capability, it should go right through. I have the Media Basic addon, it's $10 a month, it includes 200 SMS (text) and 45 MMS (multimedia) messages along with 1mb of GPRS data transfer (web browsing). You can go a la carte with SMS and MMS on a per use cost, but they both have to be *enabled*. All you have to do is store your e-mail address in the phone book. You don't e-mail the message - you send it to that address book entry, there's a distinction.

If you read the manual that came with the phone, it should be a LOT clearer how to do this.
