Red face Whre is the wireless receiver, exactly?

I own a new HP Pavillion dv8000 laptop with wireless B and G. There is an on/off button on the top of the keyboard.

In some mobile situations I have encountered very poor connections and have tried to position the laptop in a way which will allow the wireless receiver better access to the router, but I have no idea where it is in the case.

I know most of you will tell me it makes no difference how it is positioned, but just for grins and giggles, how does one find out where it is? Left side, top of screen, right side with all the other ports?

It is likely that the ariel is on a metal sheet on the underside of the laptop somewhere...so basically the whole thing is one large antenna!

Well, if that is true, there is no wonder why I could not " find " it, eh? LOL!

Thanks.

The antenna is usually a loop inside the lid running around the edges of the screen if I'm not mistaken.

It may well be in a loop!

They can also be a thin sheet of metal, either in the base or lid of the laptop...much the same as the antenna's in newer mobile phones, that don't have a "sticking out" antenna.

They are usually loops in the upper part of the display though.
