PDA Help

Hello All!

I'm in the market for a PDA and was looking for some help. Things that i'm looking for are wifi and compatibility with outlook. I'm open to either a windows OS or Palm. I understand that plam can sync with outlook, but how well does it work? I'm looking to spend a Max of $300 USD. Thanks all!

Palm devices can synchronize with Outlook but downloading your contacts, calendar and email each time you sync the device. Any new contacts or calendar items entered into the Palm will also sync with Outlook on the PC side.

I would recommend looking into smart phone devices. The PDA only market is shrinking, considering most people prefer to have a phone and PDA in one device, instead of carrying two. And for that route, check out the Treo 700 (w or p for Windows or Palm).

Thanks for the suggestion, but i would prefer to have a seperate PDA and phone. First reason being that i like having a small phone (SLVR) that when you put in your pocket you on't even know its there. Second reason being that most phone/PDAs don't have wifi, and the ones that do are pretty expensive. I know the market is deminishing, but i think i wound benifit from seperate devices.

My Palm is old-school, the m130, but I can make this suggestion. I would make a trip to some of the the big chain electronics/office stores. They have a bunch of PocketPCs on display. Spend some time poking around with them to give you a starting point for models to investigate further.

I followed your suggestion and poked around with some Pocket PCs. I came to the conclusion that i would like the windows OS. I especially took a liking to the HP rx1995. It has a small, sleek design, wifi, but not a lot of memory. Can you think of anything in this neighborhood that gives me more bang for the buck? Thanks!

We have Dell Axim's at work. Nice little devices and they also have the Odyssey client which makes it much easier to connect to wireless. The Odyssey client is extra with HP.
