Hard Drive Cloning Help Needed!
What I would like to know is what's the best software/program to clone my laptop drive with?I would prefer a free one if possible. What I need is one that will let me backup my information onto the existing old drive, remove the drive, put in the larger one,and copy everything back onto it,and be able to use it just like the old one, just with more space. Also, the new drive has been formated to FAT32,and not NTFS.Will these programs format it to NTFS for me?I read some only work from a small drive to a larger one,and others don't let you use the remaining space. Is this true?Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank you very much!

It costs money, but I recommend a kit - the one linked below has everything you need, both hardware and software wise, to clone a laptop drive using just the laptop and you can keep the old drive in the housing to use as a backup device.
http://www.provantage.com/apricorn-e...l~7APRC3CU.htm The software will allow you to delete existing partitions on the new drive and can set whatever size you want on the new partition. |
