Slingbox AV questions

Hello everyone, its been awhile since I have posted in here and I always seem to get great feedback so I thought I'd ask my questions here.

I am looking at getting a Slinbox AV as an xmas gift for myself and was wondernig mainly how well it works from a remote location. I am planning on connecting it to my parents cable box since they get just about every channel out there including the HD channels. I do not have an HDTV so I do not need the slinbox Pro.

I will not be using the slingmedia tool on the home network at all. Both myself and my parents have high sped cable connections, our packages are the basic high speed ones, no 10mbs service yet. My computer is fairly powerful, the two that I would be using are a dell inspiron 8600 w/ a PM 1.4 and radeon 8600 w/ 1GB ram. The other is a HP P42.26 i think w/ 512MB Ram and a 64mb video card.

I am using a tv tuner on the HP am expecting video quality to be about equal to that. Please let me know your experiences good or bad as I am very interested in getting one myself. Thanks!!
