Dell 2600 Laptop

I have two requests regarding the above unit. #1.) The laptop has cracks on both the monitor hinges. I am going to try and super/krazy glue it. I am planning on taking the monitor section completely off bfore gluing to be sure and get the parts together securely and was wondering if any one had experience with such a repair and are there any major pitfalls to be on the lookout for before I begin.
#2) I want to upgrade the ram. The max supported is 512 mb. It now has two 128 mb sticks installed. The problem is that only one dimm slot is "user servicable". I don't even know where the second one is although I have been told by dell tech support that it is attached to the motherboard. That means a tear down i guess. If anybody has any advise or step by steps that would be helpful I would appreciate it. Thanx.

This link says max mem is 512, but it also says: Memory module capacities
128 and 256 MB
So it looks like the max a typical user can install is 384 megs..

Guess I'm no typical user. While dismantling the laptop to glue the display frame and hinges I found the second memory slot under the keyboard. Anyone interested in the info let me know.
