Acer Laptop Quality

My wife is shopping for a notebook for work. (She works at home)

This would be strictly for office work--travel agent work, specifically. None of it very intensive.

I found this ACER AS5630-6124
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834115271

It has everything we're looking for, but I've really found nothing in the way of quality ratings for these Acers.

Anyone use these machines or know of their reliability--if they use good components etc?

Also could you recommend other brands that you think are good quality that I should consider?

Specs need to be:
Core 2 Duo
1 GB DDR2 533 or better
120GB or larger HDD
Screen size is not really important, she's getting by with the HP vs15 she's using now, but a 17" would score me some points!!

Thanks for your input!

Dell makes good laptops(as long as you don't get one with an exploding battery but that wasn't Dell's fault)

From what I have seen of Acer they make decent mid rang laptops, I haven't heard and big complaints about them but I have very little experience with them.

Thanks for the input.
I've also found an ASUS that I really like too. I know their stuff is good, so I might go for that. Problem with Dell is all the extra junk I don't want with it...

Anyway, thanks for the advice!

With Dell if you reformat and use the install CD they give you there's none of that extra crap on there.

I have an Acer 3610 notebook and it works great. I'm not a gamer, just use it for business purposes. One tip: Acer partitions the hard drive with a restore partition. Burn that to a disk then reformat &repartition then re-install and gain lot's more disk space. They had 40gb set aside for restore. I now have 86 gb free on a 100gb. hard drive.
good luck
