whats the right laptop?

Hey guys. I am looking for a reletivly cheap laptop that will be mainly for school work and projects and such. I dont know whats good out there at a good cheap price. I wont be doing any gaming but just watching occansionally videos on the computer mainly dvd's etc... If anyone has any ideas would be very helpful

Take a look at the Dell Inspiron E1505. Check the Dell Outlet store and you can find some nice deals. I just ordered a new one from there last week. C2D, 1 gig of ram, 120Gb hdd, DVD burner and 15.4" widescreen with Windows XP Media Center. Under $800.

Hey thanks for the reply. Would dell be the best choice for me? For cheapest yet still good laptops? I dont know much bout laptops or bout computers in general so i really dont know what to look for.

Dell is excellent for cheap laptops. They are relatively reliable and have pretty good service compared to other manufacturers. I would recommend upgrading your warranty though (at least two years with CompleteCare). Other than that the current base specs should work well.
