Trouble with sync

I have an old Dell Axim Pocket PC that I have used for a couple of years now. It has been reliable in terms of sync'ing with my PC for the whole time. I recently did a major upgrade (mobo, CPU included, HDDs transferred, repair install of Win XP Home SP2) and now my Axim will not sync.

Placing the PPC in the cradle recharges the unit, but the computer doesn't see it. I tried running the connection wizard -- it says COM1 and USB available. I tried moving the USB cable to all 4 ports on the back of my system to no avail.

I did look in my drivers section, and there seems to be no specific entry indicating a pocket PC/Axim device. I have no idea if there is supposed to be one, or why the computer doesn't detect and install upon placement in the cradle.

I nixed Zone Alarm as my Firewall as well, no help.

Any ideas?

Yes i beleive you will need to get the cd that came with the Axim out again and load the drivers.

I have tried updating to ActiveSync 4.2 and then uninstalling and resinstalling the original version 3.7 from the CD. It did not seem to trigger any driver install. I will pull the disk out again and see if I can manually install a driver.
