Toshiba Satellite 1135-S155 DC Jack Help Needed!
I would like to know if there are supose to be two little green wires on the topside of the board where the DC jack is soldered on?On mine there is one on each side going from the top corner pins,to the bottom corner pins. When I first got the machine,I was told it needed a new jack,as the one in it had the center pin broken loose.I noticed that someone had tried to take it apart with what looks like a screwdriver by prying the case open,as there are many gouge marks.I don't believe they actually got it open,as the tape that holds the LCD wires doesn't looked like it had been removed before. At first I was going to see if I could power it up by maybe wiggling the plug, but when I plugged it in,I thought the plug was too loose to try.But a few days ago,I decided to try it anyways.I think it was a big mistake! When I plugged it in,I heard a few snapping noises. After taking the fan cover off I noticed that the center pin was arching off the CPU heatsink.Somehow I have a feeling I wasn't the first person to do that, but I don't think I helped it any either! What are the odds that the CPU,and RAM are still any good?I have my doubts about the board! There wasn't any burn marks to speak of,but there were black marks on the heatsink, and white flash marks on the board that could be wiped away.Sorry for the long letter.Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thank You very much!
