Stupid iPod question

I got an iPod for Christmas, and I have recently begun playing around with it. It's one of the new 80 GB video iPods. I have put my entire iTunes library on it, and everything works fine, but I can't figure out how to make my playlists play in shuffle mode on the iPod. The directions I have found on the web don't seem to work. Any ideas?

Yes, when I turn on Shuffle songs, it starts playing my entire library in random order. However, when I then go to one of my playlists, shuffle is no longer active. I want shuffle to be on when I go to a playlist, and I can't seem to get that to work.

I do not think that can be done, you might want to explore using smart play lists.

it can be done, i do it all the time on my 60gb ipod. if you go to settings, there is an entry for shuffle. just choose songs, and go back to your playlist and start it. it will always start with the first song as far as i can tell, but once you advance it, it shuffles.

then, when you want to go back to no-shuffle, just go back into that shuffle entry and turn it off
