can I upgrade the drive in a laptop ?

If you are talking about the hard drive, then the answer is yes. If the unit is old, there could be some limitation on size in the BIOS. As always,check the manufactors web site for allowable upgrades.

If it is a removable type, then a slim line DVD should work. If built into the laptop, then you would need to get a replacement from the maker.
