I just bought a HP notebook and there is a black dot on the screen, are this dead pixels?

If it doesn't wipe off, then yeah, most likely a dead pixel.

nope, can't wipe it off...but the dot is the size of a ladybug, so I'm assuming multiple dead pixels on one spot?

More than likely unfortunately. I'd return the notebook.

to my knowledge laptop sceens come with a warranty of 1 year. my friend tried to get hers replaced cause she had 3 dead pixels in 3 months (unlucky). when she went back to Acer they said she needed 7 to get it replaced (more unlucky)

you should be able to replace it once you get back.
