Cleaning my laptop screen

my laptop screen is starting to get pretty dirty with smudges, etc. and I was thinking of cleaning it. I'm a bit more weary of using any sort of liquid on my laptop as the heart of the computer is right below the screen.
Does anyone have any tips on how to clean the screen? Can I use a damp paper towel?
thanks!

That is what I do -- with a bit of hand soap on it too.

Just make sure you don't spray directly on the screen. Spray only on your cleaning cloth.
