Creative MP3 players?

Hi there,

I hope this will be the correct place to ask about MP3 players.

What do you think about the Creative MP3 players? Are they good and reliable? I have a Muvo and it works just perfect, in an exception of broken battery cover and a broken headphone after 2 years of torture.

I'm planning to get Zen Neeon or Micro. I love to have replaceable batteries, but all of the newer one have their batteries embedded inside! What happen, when the batteries out of juice and recharge is no longer possible?

Bought my daughter a 8Gb Zen this last Christmas. It has been trouble free and she loves it. I don't even remember what batteries it uses.

I have one of the original Creative Jukebox Nomad players from way back in the day. It's worked flawlessly, and even got faster after a firmware upgrade. Of course the new Zen models are much nicer than that old thing, but quality wise I bet they're still the same. If it came down to personally choosing a mp3 player for myself, I'd narrow it down to either a Zen or an iPod. Microsoft's Zune isn't up to snuff yet to really be considered. It has wireless, but any song you wireless transfer to another's player automatically deletes itself after being played three times. Plus, that's only if you can find somebody else who has a Zune in the first place.

I still use the Creative software (the newest version) to transfer all my files back and forth from my pc and old Jukebox. It's always worked well and is pretty simplistic. You can download it for free from their website too, which makes it even better.

Creative just about always makes some seriously high quality stuff. I've owned multiple Creative Mp3 products along with just about anything else creative I can find. The higher end models like the vision:M Out perform the Ipods hands down at the expense of a slightly larger body, which is great because the larger body makes it a bit more forgiving with bumps, drops, or the occasional drop kick across the room (wouldn't recommend that one) But if you were curious as to whether or not creative is a good choice then I would say probably the best choice you can make in todays MP3 market.

i think the zen micro color has a removable battery and if it doesn't, then for alot of mp3 players you can buy a battery online and put it in your self. Just this weekend i bought a battery for my sister's mini ipod and followed the online guide and put the new battery one and it works great.

Thanks for the info.

I'll be purchasing a Zen neeon later this week, 'cause they are sellin' cheap. Around 50 dollars maybe, and with also some more free stuff (like those stick-on covers) and an extra earphones.

The only thing I worried about are the batteries - these are not regular AAA batteries. What happen when Creative decided to put an end to those batteries?

I purchased this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...909537-9903322 and it has been great. Plus, it uses AAA batteries if that is what you are looking for...

Have had a Zen Touch 20 gig for a year now with absolutely no hassles. Creative is good stuff. Read a lot of reviews on most mp3 brands and they all have there own pros and cons, good reviews and bad. Creative is at the top of the heap (with a few others).

Definitely read reviews before purchasing anything, but you always need to look at the date the articles were published. Many of the problems listed in a review could have been fixed through firmware updates or product redesigns - many reviews are simply written and never updated even though the problems may have been fixed. That's why I read forums as well before I buy to see what the most current gripes are and compare them to what the reviews said.

I used a Zen Vision M for awhile, very sweet, no breakdowns for the months I used it (sold it to a buddy and got an Archos 504) .

The Zen Neeon I purchased last Friday works very good to me. It has a cute OLED display, very good design. Only thing is no replaceable batteries.

I have had a Zen MircoPhoto 8GB for over a year now and it still works great. I really like it. It was the first Creative player with an OLED display and it is beautiful. It has a replacable lithium ion battery but it is still holding a charge like new. I bought my dad a Zen V Plus and it is also a really nice player.

That Zen Neeon looks really nice. You should be very happy with it.

Forgot to mention, as with any new device, look to upgrade the firmware to the newest version as soon as you get it. I was perfectly happy with my Zen Vision:M when I first bought it then I updated the firmware and now it's even better (which I didn't think was possible!).

The firmware update on my old nomad jukebox made it all around 10x faster.
