Acer vs Dell
Someone is asking me which laptop he should get. What should I tell him?
The three main differences (every other feature is essentially the same, including weight): Option 1: Dell Inspiron 640m Intel Pentium Dual Core T2080 WXGA+ LCD (1440x900) $759 + tax Option 2: Acer Aspire 5580 Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 WXGA LCD (1280x800) $899 + tax |

The Acer has a better processor but the Dell has a better screen. I would probably rather have the better screen so take the Dell.

Both are good choices.
I have owned both brands over the years and have been happy with them all. I would go with the ACER though. |

Dell laptops haven't impressed me much as of lately. had to replace a HDD in my dad's, and my sister has had to have techs come out and fix hers twice both for screen and power/motherboard issues. Basically every part of her laptop has been replaced, and not due to physical damage but simply due to components dying. Shes just lucky the HDD hasn't gone yet.
