Laptop for Photo Presentations

What would anyone recommend for a laptop to show jpg's in a portrait preview presentation? I am a photographer and I show the customer their previews on an LCD projector. We will also need to do some Photoshop editing. I will be taking the laptop into the field for uploading CF cards as they fill up. I definately need to burn CD's and DVD's for data storage. There might be an occasion to run a inkjet printer in the field. Beyond these requirements I hope to keep my personal music collection on the laptop in the form of MP3's.
I might even want to use music in the photo preview presentation. I have a budget of $1000

Thanks

Thinkpads are good and most still have PCMCIA slots, which means you can put in a CF adapter easily. They also have software that contains customized presentation options (triggered by Fn+F7) and have accelerometers that will shut off the hard drive temporarily if the laptop is bumped or dropped. Finally, they are durable.
