Laptop
hello,again....... My dad's laptop was on all night and the power settings were setup for standby after 20mins.... all night the welcome screen(Windows XP HOme Edition) said waiting for standby.. this morning I had touched the mouse pad and the screen said waiting for standby... I thought if I had turn off and on the Laptop would just boot up again. But the laptop just displayed a black screen and the proccessor and hard disk was running and there is no progress... I have reconnected the power cable and reconnected the battery still same problem... Now I am not allowed to open the comp(as much as I want to!).... laptop is currently off and screen shut... this happen this morning and before I went to sleep my mother had ask me if the laptop was alrite I Checked the power settings were setup for it to fall alseep after 10 mins and standby at 20 mins. the computer had been up for a hour like that then I fell to sleep... this morning the same thing... Here are the specs...
hp pavilion zx5000 Windows XP Home Edition Verizon 2002 Service Pack 2 Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz 1 GB of Ram 74.5 GB Harddrive Mobility Radeon 9600 128 MB SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio I know that I dont have the brands for the Harddrive or Ram or powersupply but I beilieve that it can be a failure with Windows responding to motherbaord to shutdown.... Press and hold the F8 key during startup, select Safe Mode from the startup menu using the arrow keys, and press Enter.
If it starts in Safe Mode, then go back to the startup menu, and select "Last Known Good Configuration". |
