Angry Logitech cordless mouse

I have a new HP DV9000 laptop that I purchased a Microsoft cordless mouse for. It worked at first and then would not work. I then purchased a Logitech and it worked at first and then slowly quit. By that I mean it would not work on first boot but would work on second boot. After that it would only work by unpluging the USB and pluging back in. Now it will not work at all.

I changed the batteries and downloaded the latest drivers from Logiterch.

My old Logitech corded mouse using a USB adapter in same port works fine as well as the built in touch pad.
Thanks
Chas

What type of surface are you using it on? Might there be something that is disrupting the signal (under or around the surface)? You said you changed the batteries, but is the laser lens still clean? Does the receiver have a button to sync it with the mouse? What model of mouse is it?

Tried various.

Again, various locations and positions.

Yes it is a new mouse and I checked the lens.

Does the receiver have a button to sync it with the mouse?

It has a reset button and I have tried that.

What model of mouse is it?

Logitech LX7
