ASUS G1S need help

Hello. I bought a G1S not long ago, but i would like to know how to recover from the provided hidden ghost image. I searched for the web site but none talks about how to recover it. I managed to press some key at boot screen and recovered vista, but all my programs were still there... it just added back whatever I have deleted when i just got my laptop... such as 60days ms office, 3mth norton av... I believe this is not a true recover... but how am I suppose to perform a recover that will bring it back to day 1?

Thanks in advance.
Michael.

Did the system come with a printed manual? If not, you download it from Asus: http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us

Yes it does come with a user manual but it never talk about how to activate the recover console.

I tried again today... most stuffs are gone except for the recycling bin... it seems a little bit weird

This all depends on whether you have the Recovery Partition or DVD model; though you can email ASUS for the Recovery DVD.

If you have the Recovery Partition - which it sounds like you have, then press F9 to enter the Recovery Tool. After agreeing to a bunch of legal stuff you'll have the recovery options pick the one that suits you. I'd go for the deletion of all partitions and then make 2 partitions; one for Windows the other for data.

Of course this restores it back to factory settings so you'll have to remove all of that lovely bloatware.
