smokin HP ze5170

Just got this laptop and its user reported it as being useless, didnt really say much else.....seems like this things got some sort of problem w/ the battery, it tested it (hp program) and determined the battery was ok, but now it's been calibrating it for over 6 hours. itsd been stuck at 33% at for a while. I suspect it would just shut off if i were to unplug the cord....havent tried it yet, though....trying to let it run to see what happens.....think i just need a new battery? any info would be much appreciated.

New battery seems indicated but first check with HP about recalls; they may just ship the customer a replacement.

It never finished calibrating, it kept reverting to saying the completion time would be in 6 hours....so I terminated that process and tried to take out the plug - bam - it shut off.....went to the hp website for answers and found some, tested notebook and found out its fine, just needs new battery.....it's a P4 @ 2.0 Ghz w/ 512 mb RAM, looks like it's a 15.4 screen....what do u think its worth????

Thanks,
m00nshine
