Wifi woes

Since I've gotten my laptop back from its latest repair, surfing the net over wifi has been significantly slower than before. This latest repair trip replaced my motherboard (which I'm assuming has the LAN built in, although I'm not certain). Is it possible that they replaced it with an older networking card than I originally had, or do you think I have something misconfigured?

This is what I should have - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...500786&lang=en

and this is what I've got -

Nothing has changed on my network's end. Same old wired / wireless b router at my family's house, and I get the usual 3 meg broadband when I plug a cat -5 in. What do you guys think?

The card is actually in an expansion slot. My guess is they didn't hook up the antennas properly or something of that sort.

So it's in an expansion slot even if it's internal? I have an open expansion port which is empty (filled with a space taker upper piece of plastic thing which pops out). '

Do I have to call them back now and resend it to get it fixed?

That's a PCMCIA or ExpressCard slot. I'm talking about a Mini-PCI or PCI-E slot.

Depends on the design of the laptop. On mine, you have to take off the keyboard and palmrest, but on some Dells the Mini-PCI slot is under a convenient door on the bottom, similar to a memory door. The antenna wires can then be hooked up to the card if they're not already.
