Internal Wireless card on Laptop
My laptop did not come with an intergrated wireless card, but I scavenged one from another laptop. I went to install it in the mini PCI slot (which the card was taken from on another laptop), and there are no connection to plug into the card like there were when I took it out of the other laptop. The one I am trying to install the card in is an HP Pavillion ze2000, and I planned on putting the card in the slot on the bottom. Is there another slot come where on the motherboard with connections for a wireless card? Help would be much obliged.

If your laptop orginally didn't have wireless, then it probably doesn't have the built-in antenna.

Would there be any way to add the antennas, I took the toshiba that i scavenged the card from apart, and It looked like it may have been possible...

Are you positive it doesn't have an internal wireless adapter? The specs I can find indicate that it does. Maybe all you need to do is find the button to turn it on?
If not, and if a mini-PCI card doesn't work, get a PCMCIA adapter (preferred) or a USB adapter. Are you sure you aren't looking at the memory expansion slot instead of the mini-PCI slot? Do you have a manual for the notebook? |
