No Sound On My Acer Laptop

Dear All,
I'm puzzled by what is happening to my Acer Aspire 5100 laptop. I was working fine, then I decided to partion it. Using Partition Magic it would not go, so I decided to format it and partion it. Now there is no sound and when I check the system properties it doesn't identify any Sound device. I'm sure the sound card is present, now what do I do to make it work?

Do you mean you checked Device Manager? After reinstalling Windows did you reinstall drivers? If not you need to install all drivers.

There has to be a sound device in order to mute it. Most likely problem is the sound drivers are not installed. Are there ANY flagged devices in Device Manager?

yes, the flagged devices include the audio controller, video and network controllers. I'll try to go to the Acer website if I can get the drivers
