Where to get deals on laptops?

Where is a good place to get deals on cheap laptops? I'm looking for one for about $400 (though I can probably stretch it to $500). I know dell had some black friday deals on their vostro laptops but i was too late Looking for a pretty basic laptop (good processor, at least 1gb of ram, (video card and sound aren't that big of a deal and hdd isn't that big either because i can also buy an external one.) Thanks for any help. Mainly will be using it for school purposes, Internet, word processing, some music storage, etc.

Keep watching sites like www.slickdeals.net on a daily basis. If there's a good deal on a laptop (whether at Dell, Best Buy, etc.), it will show up there.

Your other option might be to check out Dell's refurbished store -- might be a couple good laptop deals there as well.

HTH

At least once a week Dell advertises One Day Specials....They advertise on MSN.com plus many other sites.

I got a great deal on a dell laptop last Thanksgiving on the Dell outlet store so that's definitely a good place to look.
