Help
I have an Acer Aspire 5720z. I had a friend remove Vista and install XP. We had alot of difficutly getting the Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter driver, but found one that worked on a German site. The problem now is that Windows is freezing when it goes into the hibernation mode and will not shut down. Can anyone help???

It will not physically damage the laptop, but it can corrupt Windows.

If windows won't shut down...is that an indication that it i corrupt or what??? It started to happen when we tried an Intel driver... but we have deleted it .. and the problem still exists... So I guess I want to know if I should use it for the weekend... I have meetings... or should I not use it until I can get it fixed??

Do a system restore back to a date and time when it was still working properly.
