Dell XPS M1330 Vs. Sony Vaio SZ Series
I'm getting ready to purchase another laptop and was trying to decide on either the XPS1330 or one of the Sony Vaio SZ machines. I need a computer that is highly portable for travel but doesn't compromise performance. I'll probably do everything from basic web browsing office work to watching DVDs on it.
Right now I'm leaning toward the Dell due to the fact that a comparable machine is cheaper and more configurable than the Sony. At the moment I'm thinking I would go with a 2.2ghz CPU, 2 gigs of Ram and a 200GB 7200RPM HD. It looks like the Sonys have the new Intel processors but I wonder if that would really provide a significant power consumption/performance difference. Anyway, I welcome any input or suggestions, including alternatives. |

The Dell is a good choice. I've seen the XPS M1330 in person, and it looks like a pretty solid laptop. And Dell support is significantly better than Sony's.
