how to add ram to sony notebook??

hi

picked up a sony mini notebook-model pcg-sr33: celeron 600/128ram/10ghhdd/8 mb videoram...wld like to add xtra ram but see no ram slot???

there is a port on the side which says "memory stick"---is that how it is done?..what type ram goes into this slot?

windows xp runs but very slowly with alot of hdd thrashing (as expected)

the machine is so cute--very samall great for travelling

also the "fn" keys do not function---is this a software issue (no setup bios menu to activate/control "Fn" key).

thanx!!!

That notebook takes PC100 SDRAM SODIMMS. They will be taugh to find though. Crucial doesn't stock that RAM, but they say it can handle 2 sticks of 128MB maximum.

The Memory Stick slot on the side is for Sony's own memory sticks they use in other devices.

Sony should have a manual online for how to disassemble the notebook.

It's in the user manual.

Looks like you have to take the keyboard off the get to the memory. Seems pretty simple.
