DVD drive's random acts!
I have a Hewlett-Packard DV6330 laptop with Windows Vista and a TSST corp CD/DVDW TS-L632M ATA Device optical drive. The whole system has worked flawlessly since I bought it. However, these inconsistencies are now occuring:
I tried to burn an avi file onto a DVD-RW using nero (then Windows DVD Maker, then WinAVI) and the disk still shows as being empty - though it appears to have etched something into the disk itself. The drive reads pc games okay. The drive wont read original DVDs (films etc). When anything but a PC game disk is inserted, it takes minutes before 'My Computer' recognises it - and it sometimes causes Windows to freeze and show 'not responding'. Can anyone tell my why this has occured, when everything worked perfectly until now - I cannot think of anything I have installed which might have this effect. As always, any help would be greatly appreciated. Durham Red |
