Angry Fire Laptop Keyboard

I have a Dell Latitude D830 and the cursor seems to default back to where I last clicked on the "mouse." So for example, if I last clicked on the Title area above where I typed Laptop Keyboard, the cursor might very well go back there while I'm typing here. Then, I'd have to click here to finish typing and this point would now become the new default where the cursor sometimes goes back to.

Any ideas as to how I can stop this?

Thanks

Go to control panel > mouse > pointer options.

Uncheck snap to.

This actually sounds like tap-to-click is on -- when you tap on the touchpad, it clicks. You should be able to turn this feature off through the Mouse control panel. If the option isn't there, make sure the Synaptics touchpad software is installed.
