Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop memory

My niece wants to max out her laptop with a 2GB kit. I looked on Dell's website

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...67133#Overview

and then on Crucial's site

http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartsp...38E168A5CA7304.

Which memory would be more stable?

I notice Crucials's is CL4. and it seems like Dell's is CL5.

Can anyone confirm and suggest which is better memory?

Thanks.

I doubt your niece plans on over clocking her laptop so the CL doesn't matter.
Unless she needs to match the memory to the type already present in the laptop just pick the least expensive.

The Crucial kit looks like a winner. With that said, though, I think the Inspiron 6000 is new enough that any old DDR2-533 or DDR2-667 from Newegg will work. I upgraded my ThinkPad of the same vintage to 2 GB a couple months back, and the DDR2-667 that I got from Newegg (I forget which brand) works fine.

To GUARANTEE that it will work, buy the Crucial - but I'd buy the DDR2-667 kit, it's the same price as the DDR2-533 kit.
