Need the cheapest possible laptop.
I need a cheap laptop to be used mainly just for programming. So im looking for something dirt cheap, but preferably with vista.

The entry level Dell Inspirons start at 329 quid. I'd start there.

A word of advice - if you want a Vista laptop, get 2gb ram.

Yes indeed 2gb ram is necessary for you, and you don't need to get high end ones, just those normal ones can be good for you. I have noticed there is a deal on the Compaq Presario F762NR 15.4 inch laptop for $400, it is vista but only with 1gb ram, but it can be extended to 3gb, you can buy ram yourself, find some good deals on it to save your budget. Generally those 2gb laptops are around $500.
