Dell or Lenovo
I am looking to purchase a new laptop and was wondering if I should buy a Dell or a Lenovo. I am looking at both with the C2D processor, 3GB RAM, 250GB hard drive, and Vista Home Premium. Thanks.

Dell XPS / Latitude is asways recommended but not Inspiron. I also recommend Lenovo. Please select one for each manufacturer and compare them side by side. We will be considering value for money, performance and lets also base it on reviews of each.

I normally recommend Dells to people - and Inspirons are fine if they have Intel processors. However, Lenovos are better machines, but more expensive. You get what you pay for. I prefer the Lenovo "T" series.

Lenovo just came out with the new SL series, which is aimed squarely at Dell's Vostro. It's pretty nice. Unfortunately, you will have to wait a little while before you can spec one out how you want -- they just have a couple of set configurations up on Lenovo's website right now.

Well both these two brands are quite reliable, but if you want your laptop for business you should get a lenovo, if you want your laptop for game you'd better get a Dell.
