Dell inspiron E1505 hard drive question
My brother has a samsung hdd that i'm pretty sure it is 1.5gb/s but I have had a tough time with google and newegg and just searching in general trying to find out for sure.
My question is does the dell E1505 support hard drives that are 3 gb/s? He is looking to upgrade to a faster hard drive because it runs relatively slow for how old it is. Thanks.

I am no expert on this, hopefully one of the more knowledgable members will respond. But I do not think going to a 3gb/s hdd would make that much difference. If the PC is slow, its probably a RAM or CPU issue. Adding RAM is usually this simplest and cost effective way to upgrade a PC. So for example, if the PC currently has 512MB or RAM, you could probably add another 512MB (depedning on what the Motherboard currently has and what it can be upgraded to).

I'm not entirely sure of the setup but I think you are right about the cheapest upgrade and the improvements you will see. It has decent processor and I think 2gb of ram.
The upgrade will be from 5400 rpm to 7200 rpm. I have seen good improvements before when switching between the two and when upgrading cache and so on. |
