Toshiba Satellite reformat nightmare

Hello guys,

As I did 3 or 4 times before, I tried to reformat my laptop. This time the cd drive refused to read a file from the second CD and after several tries the installation failed for good. The HD is already formatted and even have part of the system already installed but I can't boot the laptop.
I did not experienced any trouble reading cd's or dvd's before so I assume the 2nd CD is faulty.
However, I have tried to start over from the beginning but the lap hangs at startup without reading the first CD. In short it's dead.

My question is, what shall I do now?

Satellite 2410-SP203

TIA.

Try blowing the dust out of the cd drive.

It seems that you're right. I changed the bios to bootup from the cd and tried to format three times until it passed okay.
Thanks for your time.
