Dell or Lenovo

I am looking to purchase a new laptop. One is a Lenovo IdeaPad Y530-5243U 15.4" display laptop with 4GB Ram, 320 GB HD, Intel T5800 processor, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD with 1759 shared video memory, ans wireless "N" for $679.

I am also considering the Dell Studio S1535-143B 15.4" display laptop with 4GB RAM, 320 GB HD, Intel T5800 processor, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with 358MB shared video memory for $699.

Both seem pretty equal, though the Lenovo has wireless "N" while the Dell doesn't. I am not sure if I am over looking anything else. I am not a gamer and it will be used for general use. There is only a $20 difference in price. It seems it comes down to just the manufacturer and I am not sure which is better a Dell Studio or a Lenovo "Y" series IdeaPad. Thanks.

In the lower price ranges, a Dell is a better value. When you get into the higher priced business laptops, I still like Lenovo. You also need to look at direct pricing and warranty coverage versus buying them from stores.

Thanks glc. I will also consider direct pricing and warranty coverage.

My brother got a Lenovo non-Thinkpad about two years ago and I wasn't impressed with it. I am a Thinkpad fan and happen to like the quality of business class laptops. The Latitude series from Dell are very nice. Lower end laptops are all very similar so like GLC said I would look at what else they offer in addition to the hardware.
