Any iPod techies out there?
I have an iPod Mini.
Awhile back it ran out of battery so I replaced it with a new one. Worked fine for a few months. Then one day I dropped it. It froze until I reset it, then I got the Folder ! error. I reset it a few times, tried to force it into Diagnostic Mode, no good. So I figured the hard drive died. So, being the opportunist I am, I got a Compact Flash card to replace (and upgrade) it. I installed the card, but it still gives me the Folder ! error. So I figure I had to restore the iPod. But iTunes doesn't detect it, no matter how many times I reset it. When I tried to force it into Diagnostic Mode, it gave me the starry sad iPod (really breaks your heart). When I tried to reformat the iPod, the damn thing won't show up as a formattable drive. Any advice as to what I should do now? |

Admittedly, we can't all call the iPod Doctor and set up a house call but there is hope, it's called mail-in : http://nycipoddoctor.com/
Email the guy and find out.
