Could try hooking up an external monitor.

Sounds like the lamp blew in the montior.

Like EzyStvy said, the quickest way is to attach an external montior. Otherwise, it has to be shipped back to the manufacturer for a repair (which will cost an arm and a leg if it's out of warranty)

No idea what repair costs run for fujitsu. I'm guessing anywhere in the neighborhood of $300-$800.

US support number: http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Portal/supporthome.do

Give them a call and explain that the lamp blew in your screen and you'd like to see if your laptop is still under warranty, and if not, how much it would cost to repair. They will need the model number and/or serial number of the laptop, so have the laptop handy when you call.

You can do it yourself if you have some experience with laptop repair work.

If it is going to cost around 300 to 800 dollars... you might as well buy a used or new replacement LCD and pop it in yourself.

Or you could replace the lamp itself... but that is a bit more work and you probably will need to do some light soldering.
