which one of these 2 will u take ?
hi guys .. a new laptop is needed (since my first one is gone - screen of fujitsu laptop gone ) .. so I saw these 2 Items in the shop :
Toshiba Satalite 300A - 1G (not sure about the model ID) , Specifications as follow : > 15.4" screen. > Core 2 Duo T5850 @ 2.1 GHz , 800 FSB , 2 MB Cash. > 3 GB DDR2 RAM > Dedicated GPU ATi HD 3470 - 256 MB > HDD 250 GB @ 5400RPM > Bluetooth , cardreader , webcam , WiFi ... not sure what else. >Vista HP 32-bit Now , the opponent is Acer ( dunno what is the model ), specification as follows : >16" Screen. > Core 2 Duo T5800 @ 2.0 GHz , 800 FSB , 2 MB Cash. > 3 GB DDR2 RAM > Dedicated GPU : Nvidia 9300GS > HDD 320GB @ 5400RPM >Bluetooth , finger print reader , webcam , cardreader .. (many other things too ) >Vista HP 32-bit so guys , I dont know which one to pick .. Acer is cheaper by 50 bucks only .. more features .. but I need a good advice , because me needs is kinda special for a laptop , as follows : > Do NOT offer me links or other models .. the shop offered many models , but these 2 are the best thing and I have to stick to the shop .. sorry for inconvenience > 3D graphic design , rendering and video editting (3D MAX 09 & After Effect) > some good gaming experience , I play many games .. COD4 , RA3 , GRID .. etc. > my pc is on more than 12 hrs / day .. kinda PC freak .. I work , study , gaming , movies .. etc. > so what I need a reliable PC that can last for a long time with me with best effort and can take care of my heavy duty job > mobility is not a concern once I can enjoy better performance. last thing to say .. plz help me ASAP and thanks in advance ! |

I believe I would go with the Acer. More features-less money. What about warranty?

well , toshiba offers 1 year international warranty .. Acer offers 1 year local warranty ..
the difference in money is 50 bucks .. so wont matter that much .. why u choose Acer ? |

Because it's more reliable than Toshiba these days. I personally wouldn't buy either one, but you didn't leave that option open.
Your needs would be better served by a desktop computer, by the way. |

Just the way laptops are built and how they are used makes them more susceptible to hardware failure. Everything is crammed into a very small space and cooling is a major issue. I have an IBM Thinkpad that's over 8 years old and it's still running, but that doesn't mean that as a whole, it's just as reliable as a desktop computer. I also don't run it 12 hours a day. I'm not terribly impressed with either Toshiba or Acer quality, but with models built in the past few years, I've heard of less issues with Acer than Toshiba.
Every point in your criteria points toward a desktop computer as being more suitable than a laptop. 3D graphic design , rendering and video editting good gaming experience on more than 12 hrs / day reliable PC that can last for a long time can take care of my heavy duty job mobility is not a concern |
