Flash for mobile devices
Why is it that Flash is not more prevalent on mobile devices? Websites that use flash are very common but it seems there aren't many (any?) mobile devices that support Flash. The Iphone is one big example (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong). The Blackberry Storm, which I am using, is another. I can visit sites such as Twit.tv but I cannot listen to the embedded players because they are flash based. I can watch videos on Youtube (which uses Flash!) but not any other Flash based site (like Hulu). I can't play any Flash games either. Why hasn't Adobe or anyone created a Flash platform for these devices?

I was wondering the same thing. I almost tried to install it to safari yesterday but was afraid to screw something up.
I am using an iPod touch with 2.2 installed.

When I first got my blackberry, I couldn't even use youtube. Had to do a OS upgrade.
It will probably take RIM a few years before they provide native support for it.

I guess my question was geared more toward more recent and popular devices that have no Flash support; AKA Iphone, Storm, and other Iphone wanna-be clones. It just seems like a simple thing to integrate and with so many websites using it in one form or another it doesn't make sense to me that there is no support.
I did read that Skyfire will be coming to the Storm. If that happens then that will satisfy me completely as it looks like it will do everything I would want. |

Skyfire looks interesting.
Now to see who gets the job done first, them or RIM. |

I believe the main concern was that the extra processing power of Flash based sites would drain the mobile's battery. Consider how many other parts of websites can be Flash based besides just an embedded player.
I would like the option for my iPod though.
