What the heck is wrong?
I have a 13 gb of mp3's on my computer. Most of it is ripped cd's and some vinyl turned digital. For Christmas my wife gets me an iPod Touch. The problem is when I installed itunes it "searched for music to import into itunes but didn't get it all. Now when I click add files or folders to library I select them and click ok and nothing happens. No import, nothing. is it tags, or format or bit rate? Re-ripping the cd's isn't so bad but I am not going to re-record those lp's. I also don't want to have an mp3 and an aac copy of each song I have.
Oh yeah, while we're on the subject does anybody know why itunes album art download is so far off from the real thing? Are there any other programs that can sync my ipod? Thanks for any help folks.

this importer works ok, sometimes it will error out. I notice it when searching for any "Greatest hits" art work. http://itunes-art-importer.en.softonic.com/
I also feel your pain about itunes, although I don't have a solution for your dilemma, I got one for Christmas, and it is registered to my desktop, I transferred all my music to my laptop but if I re-sync it to the laptop (remove the installed music from the ipod) it will not sync with the playlists on the laptop unless I recopy all my CD's to the laptop. I'm learning to really hate the whole DRM issue.

Can you just drag and drop your music into you ipod, and then use a different program to play your music files?

I mean dragging songs from explorer into your ipod.
That would eliminate the need for itunes. |

I've found this program useful for balky mp3 files : http://www.gromkov.com/faq/repair/mp3_validator.html
It's free so the only thing you'll be out is some time if it doesn't work for you. edit : You can still drag and drop songs to a Nano but, apparently, you can't do that with an iPod touch that hasn't been jail broken and the jail break for the 2G isn't out yet.
