Laptop display goes garbled

Ok First off, i have a presario c500.

Now, last friday, i took my laptop out to my garage, plugged it into power (it was on btw) and the lid was closed, got busy working on my truck and forgot about it and didnt even use it or anything, and went to my parents for the weekend while leaving it there the whole time....

It got pretty cold in there too.

Now, last night, i brought it in when i got back home and when i went to bed, i went to turn it on to check my mail and the battery was dead, because i never did turn it off, so i went to sleep.

Now today, i go to fire it up, notice the screen was black and didnt change from black. So i turned it off. Turned it back on, got to the sign in screen (xp pro btw) and i was watching tv and noticed the whole screen turned sky blue.....

Restarted it again, turned it back on, went to the desktop, and in under a min. the screen went that sky blue again...

uh oh.. so i go into safe mode.....runs fine for however long it want it to...so i thought MAYBE there was some virus or somthing being that my wireless can connect from out in the shop and it may have picked up somthing. So i ran adware and did a avg scan which i had to install cuz i didnt have it on there for some reason...

Picked up soem stuff but restarted and no go..

Now the wierd thing. is if i start it up normal. and leave it sit on the sign in screen or in the desktop, and dont touch anything, it will mess up within 10 seconds or so...if i do anything as simple as moving the mouse, it will last from a min to under 10 mins.....

It isnt always a blue screen either, some times it likes to surprise me by a nice garbled screen like the fuzzy white noise you would see on a tv channel you dont get. or the actual desktop just scrambled.....

So im assuming in safe mode the vid is disabled and my video is what is ruined thus why it crashes in non safe mode..

Any idears????

Notice I removed the hidden vulgarity. We don't allow that type of language here. You've been a member long enough to know better.

OK GIRLS! i think i may have gotten lucky, i turned it on a while ago and its not messing up yet. I imagine there was just moisture in there that hadn't evaporated overnight, but has now...

Ill update if it does it again.
